Squash BC has a thriving community of female squash players that come together to play, improve, compete, socialize, and share their love of the game.
As part of our Growth Initiative, Squash BC is committed to increasing the number of female participants in our sport. We do this through female-focused programs and events, female leadership development opportunities, and targeted efforts to recruit and retain women and girls in squash.
For opportunities to get more involved in squash, either recreationally or competitively, check out the content below or get in touch with your local squash facility. Connect with our community of passionate players!
Programs & Events
Our flagship Women in Squash initiative is a Province-wide celebration of Women & Girls in Squash. Each fall, partner facilities across the province deliver incredible events focused on getting more Women & Girls to try and stick with squash! Visit our Women’s Squash Week page for more information about this year’s event!
In the 2021-22 season, Squash BC ran three female-only courses across Grassroots Coaching and Officiating Development. Across the three events, we trained 32 new female leaders, who can now serve as role models in their clubs and communities. We look forward to running more female-only courses this season. You can check out all upcoming events on our Club Locker Event List or contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in taking a Coaching or Officiating course.
Emerging Female Leaders Grants
Squash BC is excited to open applications for the 2023 Emerging Females Grant. This $500 grant supports a female leader in her design and delivery of squash programs for women and girls through the remainder 2023. We thank our Women in Squash Partner Buntain Insurance for supporting this initiative. Applications for the 2023 Emerging Female Leaders Grant is open until March 20, 2023 at 9 AM.
Thanks to the incredible work of our Women & Girls in Squash Committee, our Women’s Squash Week Organizers and Volunteers, and the support of our Women & Girls in Squash Partners and Building the Future Fund donors, female squash participation and engagement have been growth areas for Squash BC – even coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are proud to share that Squash BC has more female members now than we had in our pre-pandemic season (shown below). Check out our 2022 Women & Girls in Squash Impact Report for more exciting metrics about our Women & Girls in Squash efforts.
