Junior Silver Series

Silver Series

The Junior Silver Series is a regionalized tournament series that allows players outside of the top of Squash BC’s provincial ranking system to compete, experience success, and continue to develop their skills. Silver Series events also represent an opportunity for those succeeding at the Squash Starters level to transition into a more competitive environment.

Silver Series events are tournaments that can use a round-robin or straight-draw format (Note: Players are always guaranteed at least two matches). Players provincially ranked in the top eight of U15, U17 & U19 or the top four of U13 (as of the event registration deadline) are ineligible to participate in the Silver Series. Silver Series event divisions can use either single-dot (competition) or double-dot (pro) balls (at the discretion of the tournament director).

Junior Silver Series Point Race

The Squash BC Junior Silver Series Point Race provides an opportunity for juniors who participate in Silver Series events to gain points throughout the season to qualify for the yearend Silver Series Championships. The Silver Series Point Race focuses on participation in events, where juniors can earn points in up to 5 events.

How do Silver Series Points Work?

Participants will earn points towards the Silver Series Point Race based on their placement in their draw. Players will count their best 5 events during the season towards their race score. The leaderboard will be displayed on the Squash BC website.

# OF DIVISION PARTICIPANTS

3 4 5 6 7 8 9 or More
1st 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
2nd 80 80 80 80 80 80 80
3rd 20 40 52 60 66 70 73

7th 20 30 38
8th 20 29

In scenarios where all draw placements are not played out, the average of those players will be awarded to each player. For example, in an 8-player draw if the 5 to 8 placements are not played out during the tournament places 5 to 8 would be added up and divided across the 4 players so that each player would receive 42.5 points ((56 + 47 + 38 + 29)/4 players).

Silver Series Eligibility

Players provincially ranked in the top eight of U15, U17 & U19 or the top four of U13 (as of the event registration deadline) are ineligible to participate in the Silver Series.
