Junior Silver Series Overview
The Junior Silver Series is a cornerstone of Squash BC’s athlete development pathway, designed to expand competitive opportunities for emerging junior players across the province. As a regionalized tournament circuit, the Silver Series provides meaningful match play for athletes outside the top tier of the provincial rankings, ensuring that more juniors can experience competition, build confidence, and continue progressing in the sport.
This program serves as a critical bridge for athletes graduating from the Squash Starters level, offering an accessible entry point into a more structured and competitive environment. Events may use either round-robin or straight-draw formats, and all participants are guaranteed a minimum of two (2) matches to support continued development.
To maintain a competitive balance, players provincially ranked in the top eight of U15, U17, and U19 or the top four of U13 – at the time of registration are not eligible for Silver Series events. Tournament Directors may choose to use either single-dot (competition) or double-dot (pro) balls depending on the level and needs for the draw.
Program Growth & Participation
This year, the Silver Series welcomed 246 junior athletes across 16 events, generating 736 total event entries. The continued growth of participation reflects increasing demand for meaningful, development-drive competition throughout the province.
The continued expansion of the Silver Series demonstrates its importance as a pathway program, supporting athletes who are building toward higher-level provincial and national competition. We look forward to adding events in the 2026-27 season.

How do Silver Series Points Work?
Participants will earn points towards the Silver Series Point Race based on their placement in their draw. Players will count their best 5 events during the season towards their race score. The leaderboard will be displayed on the Squash BC website.

In scenarios where all draw placements are not played out, the average of those players will be awarded to each player. For example, in an 8-player draw if the 5 to 8 placements are not played out during the tournament places 5 to 8 would be added up and divided across the 4 players so that each player would receive 42.5 points ((56 + 47 + 38 + 29)/4 players).
Silver Series Eligibility
Players provincially ranked in the top eight of U15, U17 & U19 or the top four of U13 (as of the event registration deadline) are ineligible to participate in the Silver Series.
