Over the past year, through Squash BC’s growth initiative we have launched the Squash in Schools program. The program has improve access to and awareness of squash through this program with a focus on students in grades 3 to 7, while introduce the fundamentals of squash within the students gymnasium.  The program has already introduced over 1,610 students to the sport of squash over the past 6 months, making it the largest launched Squash BC program so far.

The program is delivered directly by Squash BC, while also partnering with a few locals coaches in a variety of communities. Through the initial pilot of the Squash in Schools program Squash BC  has developed a Squash in Schools Curriculum and will soon be creating associated video guides, making it easier to deliver and share with coaches and phys-ed teachers across the province.

As the 2023-2024 school year wraps up, Squash BC is ramping up its last couple of Squash in Schools programs for the year. In the next month, we have over 10  schools signed up to participate in the program, which will introduce over an additional 1200 more students to the sport of squash.

The Squash in Schools Program and its success would not be possible without the support of the Building the Future donors, and the viaSport Rally Together Grant Program.
