VANCOUVER WOMEN’S DOUBLES SQUASH LEAGUE

The Vancouver Women’s Doubles Squash League (VWDSL) (formerly Vancouver Ladies Doubles League) is operated and sanctioned by Squash BC and provides women doubles players in the Lower Mainland with opportunities to compete and socialize with those from other clubs in weekly match-ups. 2024/2025 Season: Key Dates (Subject to Change)

  • League Registration Deadline: September 30 @ Noon
  • League Start Date: October 10 
  • Rules Clinic: November 2 – 9 AM to 12 PM
  • League Holiday Break: December 20 to January 8
  • Last Regular Season Match: March 6 (Updated October 21, 2024)
  • Playoffs: April 3

Winter 2025 – New Player Registration (For January to April 2025)

The Winter 2025 VWDSL New Player Registration Fee will be $30 + GST per a player for any new players who would like to join the league from January to April. Participants can register now on the 2024/25 VWDSL Winter 2025 Registration Page. Please note that all participants must be full Squash BC members throughout the duration of the season.

Part Time Player

The 2024/25 VWDSL Part Time Registration Fees will be $30 + GST per player and allows up to 3 matches throughout the season (Oct-Apr). Participants can register now on the 2024/25 VWDSL Club Locker League Part Time Registration Page. After the third game, the Part Time player can upgrade their registration, via e-Transfer, to a regular player if they would like to play 4 or more matches. Please note that all participants must be full Squash BC members throughout the duration of the season.

What Does Your Registration Fee Cover?

  • 15+ Weeks of Regular Season Matches + Playoffs
  • Prizes for VWDSL League Champions
  • 2 Boxes of Dunlop Pro Doubles Balls per Team (an increase of one box compared to last season)
  • Season-end finals night wrap-up social each season with beverages and light refreshments provided to all teams by VWDSL
  • Squash BC sanctioning fees and insurance for players 
  • League admin support which includes league scheduling, communications, rule enforcement, Club Locker league support and more!

VWDSL Host Venue Schedule

Similar to last season we will be utilizing just 2 of the 4 clubs for half the season and flipping the two clubs over the holiday break. Matches from October to December will be played on Thursday’s at either Evergreen Squash Club or the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club. With the second half of the season with matches taking place from January to April at Hollyburn Country Club and the Vancouver Racquets Club. 

VWDSL Advisory Committee

This season we are implementing the VWDSL Advisory Committee and are looking for at least 1 committee member from each club. The Advisory Committee will support the league, enhancing communication between the league and players. Additionally, it will facilitate feedback from Squash BC and VWDSL participants, aiming to ensure that the VWDSL becomes the best possible squash league going forward! VWDSL Name Rebrand

The Vancouver Women’s Doubles Squash League has rebranded its name to better align with the Squash BC Women in Squash program, along with our other league properties. We are excited to have the VWDSL join our Women in Squash programming to allow additional squash playing opportunities for Women.

Doubles Rules Clinic – November 2 – 9 AM to 12 PM – VRC

Join us for a Squash Canada Doubles Officiating Certification Course. This clinic is the starting point of becoming a certified doubles official in the Squash Canada doubles officiating pathway. Even if you don’t want to become a certified official, the clinic provides detailed information on the rules to assist players in better enjoying their games. This course will cover the important rules you need to know about the rules of the doubles game and have a better understanding of let’s, strokes and no let’s.  The clinic consists of a slideshow, an exam and lots of open discussions.
