Vancouver’s own Jacob Zi Hao Lin recently competed in the 2026 Potter Cup Final at the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships, helping Harvard University secure a national runner-up finish in one of the biggest stages in collegiate squash.

Competing at the No. 7 position against top-ranked Trinity College, Lin earned a strong 3–1 victory (11–6, 11–5, 9–11, 11–3) in the championship match. Harvard ultimately finished second nationally following an exciting semifinal upset over defending champion Penn.

For the BC squash community, Lin’s success represents another milestone in a journey that began right here in British Columbia.

A product of BC squash, Lin is a:

  • Five-time BC Provincial Champion
  • Five-time Canadian Junior National Champion (U13–U19)
  • 2023 Canada Winter Games gold medalist representing BC
  • Three-time Canadian national team representative at the World Junior Squash Championships

The 2025/26 season has been Lin’s strongest at Harvard. Alongside Harvard’s national runner-up finish, he won the Molloy Cup at the CSA Individual Championships, was named Harvard Men’s Squash Most Improved Player, and received the prestigious CSA Scholar Athlete Award.

Beyond competition, Lin continues to give back to the BC squash community through the Sunshine Squash Club, which he co-founded in Vancouver in 2020 and has since expanded nationally. He also mentors junior BC athletes interested in pursuing U.S. college squash opportunities.

“Everything I’ve achieved started in B.C.,” said Lin. “I want to make sure B.C. players know that this pathway is possible.”

Squash BC congratulates Jacob on an outstanding season and looks forward to following his continued success.
