The 2024-25 squash season in Vancouver was one for the books, with players hitting the courts across the city in four exciting leagues: the Vancouver Squash League (VSL), Vancouver Women’s Squash League (VWSL), Vancouver Doubles Squash League (VDSL), and the Vancouver Women’s Doubles Squash League (VWDSL). With fierce rallies, tight matches, and plenty of camaraderie, players of all levels brought their passion and sportsmanship week after week, making this one of the most dynamic and successful seasons yet. From regular season battles to nail-biting playoff finishes, the squash community once again proved why it’s one of the most spirited and growing sports scenes in BC.
Vancouver Squash League
Another Vancouver Squash League (VSL) season has come to a close after another thrilling winter of squash, with over 500 players competing across the league!
This season, 10 different clubs participated in VSL, forming a total of 52 teams! Competition was strong across all seven divisions, leading to exciting matches throughout the season and playoffs.
Teams battled hard all season long for their chance to qualify for the playoffs and compete for prizes. As with recent seasons, the final playoff matches for each division were hosted at selected neutral venues, bringing all the teams together to celebrate another successful season. These centralized finals created an electric atmosphere, with refreshments provided by the league, as teams battled it out in front of fellow players and supporters.

Vancouver Doubles Squash League (VDSL)
The Vancouver Doubles Squash League had another very strong season with members joining from all four of BC’s Doubles Court facilities. - Haebler Cup Division 2 Champions – Evergreen
- Playoff Champion – Evergreen
Evergreen continued their strong performance from the regular season into the playoffs, where they cruised to a 7-1 victory over VRC in the semi-finals. In the league finals, they were put up against the Vancouver Lawn, which had a ton of exciting matchups. Going into the final 4 matches of the final’s tie matches were all tied up 2-2, with game wins also all tied up. Evergreen started things really strong, winning matches 5 and 6, meaning Vancouver Lawn would need to win the final two matches to go down to the games won tiebreaker. Vancouver Lawn’s Mark Ridgeway and Drew Henderson were able to take match 7, which resulted in the final match of the season determining who was the 2024/25 VDSL Champion. Evergreen was able to bounce back in the final match to become 2024/25 VDSL Champions.
Squash BC would also like to congratulate Mark St. Georges on being voted as the Brian MacFarlane Memorial VDSL Leadership Award recipient for the season. Mark has served as the captain of the Hollyburn Stray Cats team and has provided tremendous leadership throughout the season, both on and off the court.
