A message from the Squash BC Board President,
Squash BC is excited to announce Kim Dennis as our incoming Executive Director, effective October 21, 2024. Kim comes to us from Curl BC, where she most recently was the Member Services Manager. In this role she was responsible for managing the Business of Curling program planning, administration, finances, grant writing, reporting, and resource development. She also oversaw safe sport, diversity, equity, and inclusion program initiatives for all stakeholders.
Kim is excited to meet, get to know, and work with Squash BC’s staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, and community at large. When asked about her new role, Kim said, “I am excited about the opportunity to lead Squash BC and contribute to the continued success and growth of the sport. My passion for enhancing sport experiences aligns directly with Squash BC’s objectives of growing and diversifying participation, building organizational capacity, and fostering pathways that support life long engagement in sport.”
Kim is joining us at an important time in Squash BC’s 50-year history. Paris showed us the power of the Olympics to elevate amateur sport and to expose it to the entire world. Squash BC players from 10 to 80 years old have excelled at national and international competitions this last year, yet we remain at risk of losing courts all over the province. Please do your part in advocating for squash wherever and whenever you can.
I would like to extend huge thanks to the outstanding team of Sam Crawford, Nathan Ozog, Diana Chang, and Bruce Matthews who contributed many hours to the ED Selection process. Finally, thank you to Tasha Doucas who stepped into the Interim Executive role, more than capably filling Colin’s shoes and guiding Squash BC through the beginning and busiest part of the 2024-25 squash season.
Cathy Brown
