Squash BC is excited to launch a new Squash BC Junior Silver Series Point Race, which will award juniors playing in the many Silver Series events across their regions. The Squash BC Junior Silver Series is a vital component of our Junior Pathway. It is a regionalized tournament series that allows players outside of the top of Squash BC’s provincial ranking system to compete, experience success, and continue to develop their skills. Silver Series events also represent an opportunity for those succeeding at the Squash Starters level to transition into a more competitive environment.

Squash BC is excited to further enhance the Silver Series experience with our new Silver Series Point Race for the 2023/24 season. The Point Race incentivizes participation in the Series and provides an opportunity for juniors to track their success. Athletes receive 20 points towards the series for participating in an event and could earn up to 100 points if they win their division.

How will the Point Race Work?
Participants will earn points towards the Silver Series Point Race based on their placement in their draw. Players will count their best 5 events during the season towards their race score. The leaderboard will be displayed on the Squash BC website.

3 4 5 6 7 8 9 or More
1st 100 100 100 100 100 100 100
2nd 80 80 80 80 80 80 80
3rd 20 40 52 60 66 70 73
4th 20 36 47 54 60 64
5th 20 33 43 50 56
6th 20 31 40 47
7th 20 30 38
8th 20 29

In scenarios where all draw placements are not played out, the average of those players will be awarded to each player. For example, in an 8-player draw if the 5 to 8 placements are not played out during the tournament places 5 to 8 would be added up and divided across the 4 players so that each player would receive 42.5 points ((56 + 47 + 38 + 29)/4 players).

Point Races Leaderboards
These leaderboards will be separated into two geographic divisions – Island and Mainland.
Results at all Silver Series tournaments will count towards a player’s home region total. The end of season leaders will be invited to a Silver Series Invitational. Squash BC intends to further enhance the Silver Series by adding more geographic regions in the future.
In our inaugural points race, leaderboards will not be divided by age or gender divisions. Squash BC may implement these in future seasons, should that be determined to be an enhancement to the Silver Series participant experience.

Silver Series Player Eligibility
Players provincially ranked in the top eight of U15, U17 & U19 or the top four of U13 (as of the event registration deadline) are ineligible to participate in the Silver Series.
