More than 250 Women & Girls across BC participated in Women’s Squash Week 2022!

Squash BC is thrilled to share that Women’s Squash Week was a resounding success again in 2022. From September 17-25, 256 Women and Girls participated in Women’s Squash Week programs and events this year. This represents growth over our previous year. 11 Facilities partnered with Squash BC to deliver 24 events in the province-wide celebration of Women and Girls in Squash. Check out all the events on our Women’s Squash Week Page.

Surveyed participants rated Women’s Squash Week 9/10 on average, with every survey respondent indicating they would either definitely or possibly attend next year’s event. As well, our post-event survey indicates that more than 40% of participants are new to the sport. We are thrilled to see new female participants trying our squash!

It was an incredibly well run event— organized, informative, FUN! [Event Organizers] Yaz and Josh were welcoming hosts along with all the experienced mentors who patiently explained the game. Fantastic introduction to squash!

Women’s Squash Week is an international initiative that Squash BC participates in each year. Led by our Women and Girls in Squash Committee and Women’s Squash Week Task Force, Women’s Squash Week has been and remains one of Squash BC’s largest events each year. It is a driving force behind our Women and Girls in Squash initiatives.

Squash BC thanks all our delivery partner facilities, Women’s Squash Week Ambassadors, Committee and Task Force Members, event volunteers, and of course participants! This year, we give an extra-special thank you to the outgoing Chair of our Women and Girls in Squash Committee, Shelley Neil.

Shelley has led the charge for Women’s Squash Week since she took over the committee several years ago. Shelley has done an incredible job growing this important initiative in a passionate and professional way. While we will definitely miss Shelley’s leadership, we wish her all the best in a well-deserved rest!
