The Arbutus Club 2022 BC Closed Championships, was held this past weekend (April 1-3) at Arbutus Club in Vancouver. Grace Thomas (Victoria) took home the Marine Cambie Dental Women’s Open Singles title, winning over runner-up Spring Ma (Richmond) 11-4, 11-9, 11-5. In the Kingsgate Dental Men’s Open Singles draw, Ryan Picken (Vancouver) won the title over Tristan Eysele (Shawnigan Lake) 11-8, 4-11, 11-5, 11-7 in the final.
Overall, 112 participants played in the event in men’s and women’s divisions across a variety of levels and age categories. Squash BC thanks Tournament Director Drew Henderson, the Arbutus Club, Tournament Referee Mike Tooley, and all event volunteers for putting forth such a successful provincial championships. We would like to also thank the tournament sponsors Kingsgate Dental, Marine Cambie Dental, and WST Homes for helping support the Arbutus Club 2022 BC Closed Championships.
