VSL is Back!

The Vancouver Squash League returns tonight for inter-club action.

Monday, February 7 marks the long-anticipated return of the Vancouver Squash League. Though multiple COVID-19-induced postponements have pushed the league back, players will return to the court this evening for their first matches.

Players and fans can check out league schedules, results, and standings on Club Locker.

VSL Coordinator Richard Yendell has worked diligently to get the league started and has released the following message for club admins, captains, and players (edited for length):

It gives me great pleasure to announce the return of Vancouver Squash League!  Players and teams will return to action starting on Monday February 7th.

I would like to the thank the club professionals and organizers who have contributed their time to get our league back up and running again!  Everyone is eager to get league back up and running and I hope you are all ready to play!!

We have had roughly 400 players register for VSL which is roughly 45% of our league numbers pre-covid.  This has meant adjustments to previous divisional lines and as a result we are essentially starting again anew.

GENERAL NOTES:

We will resume with four team boxes to start.  The 2022 draft has kept the essence of previous DIV1-DIV7 teams/levels, some divisions have 8 teams to start and some have 4 or 5.  Some of the higher divisions have 8 teams within each, again just split in two pools for this first round.

Initial pools are being organized with geographical considerations where possible to limit driving/commute time.  The two pools in divisions ARE NOT meant to be organized by strength, they are simply two pools.

Any questions regarding your Club Teams please connect with your club professional/club representative on any conflicts/changes with team rosters and include info@vancouversquashleague.com on communication.
