The BC Junior Gold Series continues November 26-28, 2021 at the Vancouver Racquets Club. Interested players can register until this Wednesday, November 17th at 11:59 PM on Club Locker: BC Junior Gold Series VRC – Register Now
The event will include the following divisions:
- Girls U11, U13, U15, U17, U19
- Boys U11, U13, U15, U17, U19
(Age eligibility as of last day of the tournament)
Tournament Structure:
- Participants will be scheduled a minimum of 3 matches during the tournament.
- Squash BC will be responsible for creating the draws as per our policies and procedures
- Tournament draws will be released around 4-5 days prior to the event
- Both the winner & loser of each match will be required to officiate the next match following their event. Squash BC is introducing the new live scoring software and will have trained volunteers and staff on site to assist.
Meals No meals will be provided During these events, we ask you to leave all food outside the facility. Only small snacks will be allowed in the facility (Banana, granola)
Draw Structure: Squash BC aims to have draws of 8 participants for all categories where possible. A 2nd tier draw may be created if there is 12 or more players in an age division, this is to ensure more competitive matches among all participants. Players will be placed in tiers based on their Club Locker rating on the day registration closes.
Draw Placement: All draws will be created by Squash BC. The top 25% of players will be placed in the draw such as they will not play each other until as late as possible in the tournament. In other words, they will be seeded in the traditional spots of a seeded bracket. Byes, when necessary, will be given to the top seeds. The next 25% of players will be placed at random, but only in the traditional seeding spots per a conventional bracket (ie In a 8 player draw, the 3rd seeded player, will be placed at random, in either of the 3-4 spot of a traditional bracket locations). The remaining 50% of players will be placed at random in the remaining spots of the draw. Club Locker Ratings as of the entry deadline will be used to determine the seedings for the event.
Playing Up Age Groups: Squash BC will review all playing up request following the registration deadline, Squash BC has the right to decline any player playing up to ensure better competition between players in all draws.
COVID-19 Protocols
- All current BC provincial health orders will followed and are subject to change without notice.
- All players aged 12 years and older, and all spectators, must provide proof of double vaccination before entering the Vancouver Racquets Club.
- Masks must be worn at all times in the club. The only exception is if a registered player is competing on court or an official is officiating an active match.
