This Giving Tuesday, Squash BC invites our community to rally together and help us ENGAGE with more athletes and make squash more inclusive for everyone across the province. As we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’re launching a week-long fundraising challenge starting on Giving Tuesday, December 3, running through to December 10 as part of our $50K for 50 Years Campaign.

Engaging the Squash BC Community
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity, and what better way to start the season of giving than by investing in the future of squash? Donations will help Squash BC ENGAGE the squash community and focus on initiatives that allow us to:
- Create Opportunities for New Players: Fund grassroots programs that introduce squash to people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Reduce Barriers to Entry: Support initiatives that provide equipment, coaching, and subsidized participation fees for those who need it most.
- Enhance Inclusivity in Squash: Help us ensure our sport is welcoming for everyone by developing inclusive policies, training volunteers, and creating safe spaces for diverse participants.

Impactful Results
Your Giving Tuesday contribution will directly support Squash BC initiatives, enabling us to ENGAGE with more participants and launch/further develop impactful programs like these:
- Create Opportunities for New Players: In September 2023, Squash BC launched Squash in Schools, with the goal of improving access to and awareness of squash for students in grades 3 to 7, while introducing the fundamentals of squash within the student’s gymnasium. The program has already introduced over 3,000 students to the sport of squash over the past year, making it the largest launched Squash BC program so far.
- Reduce Barriers to Entry: This past spring, Squash BC piloted a new community development & facility engagement program: Community Champions. Five facilities participated in the pilot program, which included launching or further developing a program at their club and participating in group mentorship sessions. Squash BC provided Champions with grant funding, Roving Ambassador support (including being on site for a program launch event), access to equipment, and tools/resources.
- Enhance Inclusivity in Squash: In March 2024, Squash BC launched Wheelchair Squash 57, in partnership with the Chilliwack Squash Club. This program was generously funded by a Canadian Tire Jumpstart – Community Development Programming Grant. We hope to launch and extend the program to the Lower Mainland.
