Sunshine Squash Club Donates $1,000 to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation
Vancouver, BC — May 27, 2026 — Sunshine Squash Club visited BC Children’s Hospital Foundation on Wednesday to present a $1,000 donation in support of children’s health and care in British Columbia.
The donation was raised through youth-led fundraising activities organized by Sunshine Squash Club. Representatives attending the donation included two of the club’s founders, Jacob Lin, a former club president and current Harvard squash player, and Weihan Wang, together with current student organizers of the club.
Sunshine Squash Club is a student-led initiative in British Columbia founded with two core goals: promoting squash among young athletes and giving back to the community through fundraising. The club creates opportunities for beginners and junior players to access the sport while organizing community events that support local charities and meaningful causes.
Community giving has become an important tradition for Sunshine Squash Club. Each year, the club organizes three to four community service and fundraising activities, bringing together junior players, families, and supporters from across the local squash community. Through these initiatives, Sunshine Squash hopes to encourage young athletes not only to develop their skills on court, but also to understand the value of leadership, service, and responsibility.
The $1,000 donation to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation reflects the club’s broader mission of connecting sport with social impact. By supporting an organization that serves children and families across British Columbia, Sunshine Squash Club hopes to show that young athletes can make a positive difference both on and off the court.
Sunshine Squash Club will continue to support the long-term growth of squash in British Columbia through student-led initiatives that promote youth participation, grassroots development, accessibility, and charitable giving.
