CANADA WINTER GAMES COACH & MANAGER

Squash BC is seeking two passionate and dedicated individuals to lead Team BC’s Squash team at the upcoming 2027 Canada Winter Games. Successful candidates will work closely with key stakeholders to select and train Team BC in preparation for the 2027 Canada Winter Games, taking place March 8-14, 2027, in Quebec City, Quebec.

To best serve our athletes, we are seeking one male and one female candidate who meet the requirements for Canada Winter Games Coach (see below). If one of the selected candidates does not yet meet the coaching certification requirements, they may be appointed as the Canada Winter Games Manager.

Canada Winter Games Coach – Requirements

  • Actively Certified at the Provincial Coach level, as of September 30, 2026 (certification must stay active through the CWG dates) 
    • Candidates not currently certified at the Provincial Coach level should provide a plan for completing their certification by this date in their application 
  • Completed all Squash BC Safe Sport Requirements for coaches (outlined here: www.squashbc.com/w/about-us/safe-sport/safe-sport-requirements). Requirements must be completed before the first scheduled CWG training session. 
  • 19 years of age and older, as of September 30, 2026 
  • Demonstrated experience in training, developing, and motivating high performance junior squash athletes 
  • Experience coaching in a team environment

Canada Winter Games Manager – Requirements

  • Completed all Squash BC Safe Sport Requirements for coaches (outlined here: www.squashbc.com/w/about-us/safe-sport/safe-sport-requirements). Requirements must be completed before the first scheduled CWG training session. 
  • 19 years of age and older, as of September 30, 2026 
  • Experience with high performance junior squash athletes 
  • Experience working in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead, travel with, and supervise the Squash BC team athletes at the 2027 Canada Winter Games (March 8-14, 2027 in Quebec City, Quebec) 
  • Represent Squash BC in a professional manner at all times before and during the event 
  • Lead and/or support team training sessions 
  • Sit on the Squash BC Canada Winter Games Task Force 
  • Participate in the athlete selection criteria and the athlete selection process

Compensation

  • The two coaches, or the one coach and one manager, will each receive an honorarium from Squash BC 
  • Coaches will also be compensated hourly for agreed upon team training sessions. Hourly rate and training session schedule will be determined 
  • Associated travel expenses will be reimbursed 
  • Squash BC team apparel will be provided
