Women’s Squash Week 2025, held from September 19 to October 6, marked our most successful year yet—an achievement strengthened by the momentum created through our first Women in Squash: Mentorship Program and made possible in part through the support of our EDI Grant partner, Mondo. Their commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion helped us expand opportunities for women not only as players, but also as leaders and coaches within the sport.
This year’s Women’s Squash Week saw unprecedented engagement across the province, with 61 events hosted at 25 facilities and participation across seven of eight provincial zones. More than 700 players took part—many of them new to squash—reflecting the growing reach of this initiative. The dedication of 33 Ambassadors brought these events to life, creating welcoming, inclusive spaces in their local communities.
The impact of Women’s Squash Week was amplified by the foundation laid earlier in the year through the Women in Squash: Mentorship Program, supported by Mondo and other partners. Through this pilot, nine new women community instructors completed a women-only Squash Canada instructor course, and 14 participants engaged in mentorship, leadership development, and peer support from May to October. The confidence, skills, and community built through this program carried directly into Women’s Squash Week, helping shape events that were more inclusive, more welcoming, and more reflective of women’s leadership in squash.
From introductory lessons and drop-ins to mini tournaments and exhibition matches, every event this year contributed to strengthening community, increasing participation, and showcasing the growing presence of women in squash. The alignment between the mentorship program and Women’s Squash Week created a powerful pathway—from training and mentorship to real-world leadership and community engagement.
This year’s success was a collective effort, and we extend our gratitude to our volunteers, facility partners, and the players who showed up with enthusiasm. And importantly, we recognize Mondo’s support, which played a key role in enabling both the mentorship program and Women’s Squash Week to grow in impact and inclusivity.
Thank you for making Women’s Squash Week 2025 one to remember. We’re already looking forward to Women’s Squash Week 2026!
