BC continued our strong representation at the national level, competing at the Connor, Clark, & Lunn Private Capital 2025 Canadian Senior Championships with over 40 BC athletes travelling to Toronto to compete in this year’s event. Following the 5 national titles won in the previous weeks’ Canadian Junior & Open Championships, BC was able to claim another 3 National titles at the Toronto Cricket, Skating & Curling Club. Squash BC would like to congratulate Rob Wilson (Men’s 50+), Gerald Poulton (Men’s 80+) and Nathan Ozog (Men’s B) on winning National Titles this past weekend. BC had a great showing overall, claiming 7 national titles, along with a podium sweep of the Men’s 50+ division.
Guilfoyle PSA Squash Classic 2025
As a companion event of the Connor, Clark, & Lunn Private Capital 2025 Canadian Senior Championships, a PSA Men’s and Women’s Challenger event attracted some athletes from across the world, where we had some BC representation in the event.
In the Women’s Guilfoyle PSA Squash Classic 2025 Challenger 6 event, BC had strong representation with Giselle Delgado, Spring Ma and Maria Min all competing. We had an all BC matchup in the first round where Maria and Spring were coming back from their freshman years at Cornell University and Yale University. As usual, between the two, it was a tightly contested match with Maria pulling away with the win 3-2. Maria continued her strong showing, beating the tournament’s top seed and world #94 Madison Lyon in the Round of 16 3-1. Maria came just short of winning her Quarter-Final match against Ecuador’s Maria Paula Moya, losing in a nail-biter 3-2 match with the fifth game ending 11-9. Giselle continued her strong play after claiming the bronze medal at the 2025 Canadian Women’s Open Championships the previous week, cruising to victory in her first round match, only dropping 3 points total in a 3-0 victory. Her strong showing did not stop there, winning her Round of 16 match 3-0 and once again only dropping a total of 7 points in the match. Unfortunately, her strong play put her up against Canada’s #4-ranked Nikole Todd, where Nikole was able to hold off Giselle, winning 3-1.
Liam Marrision, coming off his National Men’s Open title the previous week, participated in the Guilfoyle PSA Squash Classic Men’s Challenger 9 event. Unfortunately, Liam came up short against Hong Kong’s Andes Ling, losing 3-1 in the Round of 16.
