Our Provincial Masters Team set off on January 24th to participate in the 2025 Ridley Windows & Doors Canadian Masters Teams Tournament held in Moncton, New Brunswick. The BC team had a great weekend finishing 4th overall and an impressive record of 4-1.
Pool C Round Robin Games
On Day 1, Team BC faced off against the Atlantic and Saskatchewan teams, where they went 2-0. With the first set of matches against the Atlantic, BC had some outstanding results, with our team dropping only 1 game and going 7-0 in matches. Against Saskatchewan, BC kept the energy going and continued their outstanding play with another 7-0 in matches and only dropping 1 game again.
During Day 2, BC finished their round robin games where they faced a tough Quebec team. This one came down to the wire, unfortunately ending in a 3-4 match record.
This left BC finishing 2nd in Pool C with a 2-1 record, and pushing them toward the 4th-6th place playoff bracket.
4th-6th Place Playoffs
After a tough loss to Quebec on Day 2, BC had to bounce back as they went into the playoffs right after losing. Facing Manitoba, these matches contained nail biter games, although BC prevailed and came out on top winning 5-2 and going 19-9 in games.
On to the final day, BC had to play Nova Scotia who just came off of a 4-3 win against Manitoba. This meant BC and Nova Scotia both were playing for 4th and had to put everything out there on the courts to get there. Right from the gates, BC decided to end Day 3 exactly how they finished Day 1, by going 7-0 in matches and only dropping 1 game once again. Nova Scotia showed no match for our strong BC Team, and BC claimed 4th place to finish their weekend in Moncton, New Brunswick.
