The 2024 BC Junior Open was held at Evergreen Squash Club from September 27-30. The event saw record breaking entries, with 160 junior players participating in the tournament. The BC Junior Open served as a kickoff event for the junior squash scene in BC along with some of the top juniors across the country participating in the first-ever Squash Canada National Junior Circuit – Platinum event. This set up the stage for our BC juniors to compete at a high level while securing points to their Squash Canada National Junior Circuit rankings.

Squash BC would like to extend a big thank you to Evergreen Squash Club for being the host facility of this year’s BC Junior Open as well as Tournament Director and club head pro Thomas Brinkman and the club’s manager Cathy Covernton. A thank you also goes out to coaches, parents, referees, volunteers, as well as the event’s sponsors for providing meals throughout the weekend: FreshSlice and Subway. Lastly, thank you to viaSport for supporting the 2024 BC Junior Open through the BC Hosting Grant. This event could not have been a success without the support of all involved.

The Silver Series Points Race

The Silver Series Points Race was launched last October to award and incentivize junior players across the province for playing in these events. The points race also allows juniors to track their successes: players receive 20 points for participating in an event and have the opportunity to win up to 100 points for winning their division. For more insight into the Silver Series Points Race, please visit the Silver Series information page.
