This summer, top BC athletes of all ages battled it out on the international stage. Junior players traveled locally to Niagara-on-the-Lake for the Battle of the Border with our American neighbors. BC girls took on the global competition at the 2024 Junior Open U15 and U17 Pan American Games in Guatemala City, clinching two gold place finishes by Veera Dhaliwal and Angela Hong and a 3/4 place finish by Malika Markman. At the World Junior Squash Team Championships in Houston, Texas BC Women Maria Min, Ocean Ma, Spring Ma and Hermione Cao made up the Canadian Women’s team secured a bronze medal finish, Team Canada’s best performance at the event in over 35 years!

Nicole Bunyan captured the Gold both in the individual event and alongside the Canadian Women’s team at the Pan American Squash Championships in Lima, Peru. In Amsterdam, Lauren Wagner and Gerry Poulton won the Women’s 55+ and Men’s 80+, respectively, with some fantastic BC representation in other draws.
