Squash enthusiasts, get ready for an exhilarating event as registration is now open for the 2023 BC Open. Always a focal point of our fall competitive calendar, the event is set to take place November 23 to 26 at the Evergreen Squash Club, in West Vancouver. This event promises to be an event you don’t want to miss with Men’s and Women’s PSA Satellite Events, Amateur Tiered & Masters Draws, a companion Junior Silver Event, and much more!
Tournament Overview
The 2023 BC Open is scheduled to run from November 23 to 26, and will include the following events:
- Men’s & Women’s PSA Satellite Event: A highlight of the tournament, featuring a prize pool of $2,500 US (minimum) for each draw. This is a golden opportunity for the rising stars of professional squash battle for points, while local fans are treated to the competition.
- Amateur Tiered Draws: The tiered draws will be open to players of all levels. Participants will be placed in divisions based on their Club Locker Ratings, ensuring competitive matchups that cater to each player’s level.
- Master’s Division Draws: For participants aged 35 and above, these draws will be divided into multiple age categories, ranging from 35+ to 80+. It’s a chance for seasoned players to compete within their peer groups.
- Silver Series Companion Event: The BC Open will showcase a Silver Series Companion event to allow juniors the opportunity to experience the historic event and catch some of the amazing competitions across the other divisions.
Exciting Activities Beyond the Court
The BC Open isn’t just about the action on court, it’s also about creating a vibrant atmosphere and fostering a sense of community! Participants can look forward to:
- A lively Saturday evening “Player Party” social featuring delicious appetizers and drinks. It’s an opportunity to unwind, socialize, and connect with fellow players.
- Fun prize draws, activities, and more scheduled in between matches, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the tournament experience.
- Our Community Outreach Day on November 22, where Squash BC’s grassroots initiatives will take centre stage to help grow and develop our sport.
- The Court-side bar, which provides a perfect spot for spectators and players to relax, enjoy refreshments, and take in the thrilling competition.
Registration Details
Registration fees as follows for the 2023 BC Open:
- Earlybird: $79 + GST – Until September 15, 2023, @ 11:30 PM
- Regular: $89 + GST – Until October 31, 2023, @ 11:30 PM
- Late: $99 + GST – Until November 15, 2023, @ 11:30 PM
Junior Silver Series Companion Event Fees:
- Earlybird: $49 + GST – Until September 15, 2023, @ 11:30 PM
- Regular: $59 + GST – Until October 31, 2023, @ 11:30 PM
- Late: $69 + GST – Until November 15, 2023, @ 11:30 PM
Registration fees include a range of benefits such as a minimum of 3 scheduled matches, an event souvenir dry-fit shirt, access to the PSA Satellite Matches, a Squash BC & Event Partners Swag Bag, and participants in the tiered and masters draws will receive a ticket to the Saturday Night “Players Party” Social (including a drink ticket and appetizers).
