Squash BC Approves New Out-of-Province Tournament Participant Policy

The Squash BC Board of Directors has approved a new Out-of-Province Tournament Participant Policy. This policy comes into effect immediately.

To enter a Squash BC sanctioned tournament, Out-of-Province Participants will now pay a $10 Out-of-Province Fee in addition to regular registration fees. This fee will be used to cover Out-of-Province Participants by Squash BC’s Sport Accident Insurance during the event. Squash BC Members already have access to this coverage along with other member benefits.

What happens if I am an Out-of-Province Player who previously purchased a Squash BC Membership to compete in a sanctioned event this year?

If you previously purchased a Squash BC Membership to participate in a Sanctioned event this year, your membership type and the number of events you competed in dictate what will happen:

Out-of-Province Junior/Young Adult Members who competed in 2 or more events

As the membership fees you previously paid would be less than the equivalent Out-of-Province Entry Fees, you will not receive a refund. Your tournament entry/insurance membership benefits will be honoured until the end of the season and you will be converted to a temporary membership class that will not be part of our Provincial Rankings.

Out-of-Province Junior/Young Adult Members who competed in 1 event

Players in this group have two options. Should a player in this group not intend to compete in another Squash BC sanctioned event this season, they can request a partial refund of their membership fees paid equal to the fees paid less $10. If a player in this group intends on playing another Squash BC sanctioned event this season or if they are not interested in the partial refund, they will be converted to a temporary membership class with tournament entry/insurance benefits, but no Provincial Rankings benefits. If you fall into this group and would like a partial refund, please reach out to our team at office@squashbc.com

Out-of-Province Adult Members

Players in this group can receive a partial refund equal to their membership fees paid, less $10 per event entered this season. Should a player this group wish to remain a Squash BC member for the rest of this season, we can convert you to a temporary membership class with the same privileges as the groups above.
