Nearly 100 Players Compete at BC Junior Open

Following the successful launch of Squash BC’s Junior Gold Series last month, our province’s top juniors took to the courts again at Evergreen Squash Club for the 2021 BC Junior Open. The event took place from October 1-3, 2021. Overall, 93 juniors competed in the event across 11 age and gender divisions.

BC juniors took home titles in all but one division and had representation in every final. Being an open tournament, the event saw many out-of-province juniors compete, mostly hailing from Alberta. Squash BC congratulates all our winners, finalists, and participants for competing strongly throughout the tournament weekend. As all our junior players continue to transition back to competitive play, we are consistently impressed with their performance after the long pandemic-induced off-season.

Squash BC would like to thank Tournament Director Thomas Brinkman and Tournament Referee Christina Yap for working diligently throughout the event. As well, Squash BC appreciates all staff and volunteers who contributed to the event’s success.
