Closed Provincial Championships were recently held at the Hollyburn
Country Club. This was the eighth consecutive year that Hollyburn
has hosted the event and as usual it was a great weekend of Junior

Developing Junior Program
The Provincial
Developing Junior Program has been designed to guide the committed
and improving junior squash athlete through a program of skill and
fitness development in a supportive, fun environment. Using the
input of certified Coaches and a guiding group of parent coordinators,
selected athletes will have their skill and fitness abilities assessed
through participation in a series of Provincial Camps. more...
Squash BC 2011 Canada Winter Games Program
Every four years, the Canada Winter Games
(CWG) is hosted by a different city within Canada. The next CWG
is scheduled to take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia in late February
2011. The CWG represents the pinnacle of sporting competition for
many athletes in Canada and has been used numerous times as a springboard
to International and Olympic level competition. Squash has a long
history of involvement in the CWG and BC has a strong history of

New Funding Program
Hello to all the Junior squash players and their
parents!
Another Squash Season is upon us! We hope you’ve all had an
enjoyable Summer and are looking forward to another action packed
year of Squash!
We’re pleased to announce a new Funding
Program to help defray the costs of traveling to select out of town
Squash Tournaments. These funds have been made available to us through
a grant from the SportsFunder Lottery. Please take a moment and

BC Athlete Assistance Program
The BC Athlete Assistance Program is funded
by the Sport and Recreation Branch of the Provincial Government.
Athletes wishing to apply for funding through this program must
meet the criteria as published by the branch and Squash BC. For
a set of criteria by the branch you may view the branches web page
at, http://www.tsa.gov.bc.ca/sport/programs/bcapp_pso.htm.

External Sport Credits for High School
Students
The External Sport Credentials Program
(ESCP) gives students the opportunity to earn graduation credits
for approved levels of competition as an athlete, coach and/or official.
Students can obtain External Sport Credits in these categories:
- Athlete (10, 11, 12)
- Coach (11, 12)
